Public Speaker, Author, Artist & Entrepreneur.
DJ and his mom Cindi started their journey in 1986, at the age of 3, when he was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, along with psychomotor retardation.
In July 2011, DJ and his mother Cindi started on their “Mission of Inclusion”, focusing on “Raising Awareness and Gaining Acceptance” for everyone who live with the daily challenges people with a wide range of disabilities face each and every day.
Not just Autism.
DJ created Imagiville, an imaginary world that DJ created as a safe space when he was younger and being teased and bullied. Imagiville is a safe place where everyone is accepted for who they are.
He started drawing a series of characters to help spread the word – The Imagifriends of Imagiville. Lead by the Mupperezmo, whose motto is to “Look and see things from a different point of view!”, the Imagifriend family has grown to over 300 Friends!
All of the Imagifriends promote and spread a positive message, working together to to fulfill their mission of spreading awareness, acceptance, and inclusion. No questions asked.
On the road again ...
With Covid in the rear view mirror, things were moving forward. Excitement and optomism was high, DJ and Cindi were excited about taking DJ's mission of "Raising Awareness. Gaining Acceptance" to the next level. They were getting back on track, and started the journey once again, with speaking engagements and events being planned, set up and attended. DJ and his mom made a great team.
That changed in the early spring of 2023, when Cindi was diagnosed with advanced brain cancer. Unfortunately, she passed away on August 24, 2023.
With Cindi's - DJ's caregiver, biggest fan, supporter and "partner in crime" - passing, DJ's younger brother Josh (his only immediate family member) has stepped in to take over. Together, and in memory of their mother, DJ and Josh are committed to carry on Cindi's work to "Raise Awareness & Gain Acceptance!"
This GoFundMe campaign has been organized to help raise money to help DJ and his brother Josh cover their living expenses while the new 501(c)(3) non-profit organization the Imagiville Friends and DjandTheImagifriends.com is being established.
